"In July of 2019 my wife Melissa was diagnosed with a very rare palliative condition. Seven months later we were told to start her end-of-life planning. This album was recorded in the two weeks following that revelation, early in the morning before Melissa awoke. It was created as something to help her sleep though the sounds and also seems very reflective of the complex feelings I had been and continue to struggle with as a caregiver. The whole thing sounds rather nostalgic to me - while an ambient album the sounds remind me of both my 1980s new wave childhood and the many trips to the Canadian prairies. It was composed largely on digital and analogue synthesizers and a 1958 Rickenbacker lap steel."
